The gift of thought

A little clarity about privacy.

How Giftinator handles your inputs, technical requests, and retailer links. Updated October 12, 2026.

Your gift finder inputs

The gift finder runs in your browser. Selected filters, optional custom recipient text, and search words appear in the page URL so you can reopen your selection. These URLs may appear in browser history, requests to the host, and any link you copy. Avoid entering sensitive personal information.

Giftinator has no visitor accounts, payment processing, visitor database, analytics scripts, or form submission endpoint. Its code does not set tracking cookies or use browser storage to track visitors. You can reset the finder to clear its current selection; browser history is managed through your browser.

Secret Santa names and draws

The Secret Santa draw runs on your device. Participant names, assignments, and the selected group budget stay in the current page’s memory. Giftinator does not send names or assignments to a server, AI, or Amazon, and does not save them in browser storage or put them in a URL. Clearing the draw, leaving the page, or reloading clears the names and assignments. Browser extensions and anyone who can see your screen may still see what you enter.

The organizer can see every assignment. Giftinator does not provide private participant links or send invitations. If you choose to tell people their assignments, use your own private communication method. The gift finder link carries only the selected editorial budget range; it contains no participant names or assignments.

Hosting and technical requests

Cloudflare hosts Giftinator’s pages and assets. When your browser requests a page or asset, Cloudflare processes technical information such as your IP address and requested URL to deliver and operate the site. Cloudflare may provide aggregate hosting and performance metrics to the operator. Giftinator has no visitor tracking service or personal profiles, and we have not configured separate storage or export of visitor request logs.

Cloudflare’s handling and retention of technical data follow its applicable policies and vary by service and data type. Hosting-level processing is separate from the gift finder’s local filtering. Read Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

Weekly editorial review

A separate maintenance workflow sends the public gift catalog and recipient guidance to Cloudflare AI for editorial review. It does not receive visitor inputs, browsing activity, or custom recipient labels. Visitor recommendations use the existing catalog in your browser.

When you follow an Amazon link

Amazon receives the catalog’s generic gift search phrase and, when configured, our public affiliate tag. Your custom recipient label and finder search words are not added to that destination. Our links suppress the referring page URL. Amazon’s own privacy and cookie practices apply after you visit. Read Amazon’s privacy notice.

Contact and privacy requests

The public operator of this site is Giftinator. For privacy questions or requests about information you have sent us, email giftinatorsupport@gmail.com. You can ask about, correct, or request deletion of information you have emailed us.

If you email us, we receive your email address, message, and any information you choose to include. We use those details to respond and handle your request, retaining them only as long as needed for that purpose and applicable legal obligations. Email is handled through Gmail; Google’s privacy policy describes its processing. Please avoid sending banking details or other sensitive information.

Advertising and consent

Ads are disabled. Giftinator loads no advertising scripts or tracking pixels. Before ads are enabled, this notice must be reviewed and expanded for the chosen consent platform, advertising vendors, and audience jurisdictions.
